• Identify some challenges you may face. (3 marks)
• How are you going to overcome these challenges? Give the solution and rationale.
Ensure you include distribution channels, employees, and technology. (9 marks)
Key Items to be addressed:
• How does your business contribute to your community or destination? Are there any
potential negative impacts to your community?
• Is this business sustainable (review Module 5 of the course)? Why or why not?
• What is the current political and economic state in your community in terms of
tourism and hospitality?
• Are there any other weaknesses or threats that you would consider?

• Identify some opportunities/benefits of your business? (12 marks)
Essential Items to be addressed:
• Will you use distribution channels to sell any of the products your business offers? If
yes, what distribution channels will you use (list for each market you have identified
and why)
• The characteristics you will look for when hiring your team.
• What types of technology are available to help in the operation of your business?
What technology will you use, and why?
• How does your business contribute to the host community/destination? Are there any
potential negative impacts to your community?
• Is this business sustainable? (Review modules 8 and 9 of the course). Why or why
not?
• What is the current political and economic state in your community in terms of
tourism and hospitality?
• Are there any other strengths or opportunities that you would consider?
Strategies (12 marks)
• Strategies you will use to build the business. (12 marks)
Ideas of key items to be addressed:
• How will you use your strengths to lessen weaknesses while leveraging opportunities
to mitigate threats?
Conclusion (Synopsis) for the presentation:
Instead of your report having a conclusion, the conclusion will be the business case synopsis
in the form of a PowerPoint presentation.
Business Case Synopsis Presentation (18 marks)
• Create a summary of the case that includes significant aspects or facts built from the
business case questions. As mentioned above, prepare and present a PowerPoint
Presentation (maximum 10 slides) presenting your business case for or against
opening this tourism business.
• (Research must be evident throughout).
Organization and Structure (5 marks)
• The project is well organized/ structured as per final project instructions (e.g.,
divided into sections, proper bolded headings are used as per instructions,
etc.). Looks professional and illustrates evidence of pride taken.
• The paper is the required length of 6-7 pages.
Spelling, Grammar, & Sentence Structure (5 marks)
