Qry 1: Write a query that displays all employees first and last names, in alphabetical order, and create a new field which displays their age, rounded up.
Qry 2: Write a query that displays the employees who like cheeses that do not start with a G or B or C, and displays their hire dates, and creates 3 new fields, each which separate out a part of the date, using the Day, month and year functions. 53 rows
Qry 3: Save the previous query as query #3. Remove the cheese criteria. Now display only the employees (by using criteria), who were hired between the 10th and 15th of the months of Jan, Feb and March, and only in the years greater than 2010. 3 rows
Qry 4: Create a query that displays a list of first name, last name and favorite cheese for all those born in the month of June. Create a field that displays an employee’s birthday as a word for the month they were born. You choose whether to do this as a full word or an abbreviation. You need the format function. 10 rows
Qry 5: Create a query that displays the day of the week, as a word, that each employee was born on. Use the fields of the employees names, and no need to display the birthday – just the day of the week they were born. Use criteria to show those born the last 3 days of the week (Thurs, Fri, Sat) 41 rows
Qry6: Save query 5 as a new query, and remove first and last name from query. Edit query to display how many employees are born [birthdate] which days of the week. (remove criteria) Sort Descending by the count of the day of the week that had the most birthdays.
Qry7: Write a query that displays the number of employees who were born [birthdate] between the 16th and 31st days of any month, any year. 61 rows. Use the DAY function to accomplish this. Display as one field by grouping and counting. If you do this correctly, no need to use wildcards.
Qry8: Write a query that averages the hourly wage for employees that were born, during the Winter months(December, January, February, March). 36 records. List the months as the full word, as mine displays. Show only those employees who have provolone or pecorino as a [fav cheese] 9 records. Count the employees, and average the [hourly wage] by each month.
Qry9Calculate the age of each Employee. Display the employee’s age with no decimal places ( so round up) List the employees’ [first] and [last] names, and oldest employee, descending. 103 rows
Qry10Save the above query with a new name. (p 4 of Guide). Remove the employee names fields and add their [favorite cheese]. Also remove the sort from the Age field. Display the average age by favorite cheese. Add and display average hourly wage as well. Sort Desc by Avg hourly wage. 17 rows
Qry11: One more time, for practice, either recalculate each employee’s age, or use the previous query, saved as a new one. Remove the grouping from the query, and any fields other than age. (Make sure the avg is removed from the age you may need to do this in the builder) Display only the employees who were born anytime in the 1960s or 1970s. Use whatever function and criteria you like to make this happen. Sort by age ascending.(49 rows)
Qry12: Create a new field in the query, that shows the employees new hourly wage, after a budget increase of 3% across the entire staff. Translation: Increase each employee’s hourly wage by 3%, and show their new hourly wage. Accomplish in 1 or 2 newly created fields, but name them appropriately. Display employee [first] and [last] name, and display in alphabetical order. Apply appropriate formatting to all created fields.
Qry 13: create a new query that has a new field in it:
In the comments of the assignment, type out the instructions for the query and the new field. Then create the new query and new field and name it Query13.
