1. Select a newsletter template from Microsoft Publisher. If you do not have access to Microsoft Publisher you may choose a Microsoft Word (multi-column formatted) newsletter template from Microsoft Office Online Template at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/CT010104328.aspx. If you are using Microsoft Word 2010 or newer, you can click open Microsoft Word, click on New and then enter newsletter in the search box. This will provide you will several newsletter templates to choose from. YOU MAY NOT CREATE A NEWSLETTER FROM SCRATCH. Everyone must use a template.
2. Create one single newsletter (two pages minimum) that examines both of the curriculum programs (Project Wild and Project Learning Tree) used in this course.
3. You may use images from clip art or from copyright free images located on the World Wide Web.
4. Using your own words (do not copy and paste) respond to the prompts listed below in a minimum of three sentences:
   Note: You may use your Project Wild and Project Learning Tree text materials as a reference. In addition to your text materials you may review Project Wild at http://www.projectwild.org) and Project Learning Tree at http://plt.org for help with the responses. Additional References are: Council for Environmental Education at http://www.c-e-e.org and Project Wild and Aquatic Wild at http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/edu/enved;

1. • Project Wild (you must create subheadings for each of the prompts – total of 6 subheadings)

     • What is the mission of Project Wild?
     • What are the goal of Project Wild?
     • Who are the principal sponsors of Project Wild?
     • Provide a brief history of Project Wild.
     • Discuss an interesting activity you have found in the Project Wild guide.
   • Project Learning Tree (you must create subheadings for each of the prompts – total of 6 subheadings)

1. • • What Project Learning Tree?
     • What is the mission of Project Learning Tree?
     • What are the goals of Project Learning Tree?
     • What organization sponsors Project Learning Tree?
     • Provide a brief history of Project Learning Tree.
     • Discuss an interesting activity you have found in the Project Learning Tree guide.
2. You must address the prompts using complete sentences.
3. You must create subheadings for each of the prompts.
4. References must be included in your publication (both text materials and web resources). You will therefore have a minimum of 2 textbook citations and 2 web site citations following APA guidelines.
5. QR Code is the trademark for a type of matrix barcode first designed for the automotive industry in Japan. A barcode is a machine-readable, optical label that contains information about the item to which it is attached.
6. For example:   When viewed using a QR code scanner, this will take you directly to the QR Stuff website.
   Using the free online QR code generator, at http://www.qrstuff.com/ create a QR code to link viewers of your newsletter to both http://www.plt.org and http://www.projectwild.org. You will have a total of two QR codes on your newsletter.
7. Proof your publication for the following quality issues:

1. 1. Font(s) should remain consistent with the template. (*Note: Copy and paste actions from other documents can introduce new fonts to your publication.)
   2. Appropriate graphics (clipart) are used on the newsletter. (A good resource for images is http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/images/)
   3. Unused template pages should be deleted before submitting. Scroll down to the bottom and check to see if you have any extra pages. Delete if necessary. 
   4. Unused text and image placeholders should be deleted.
2. Save the finished document. It will be a .pub or .docx file.
3. You will also need to save as a PDF for universal viewing. The computer you are working on might have this capability. Simply go file to Save As and see if you see PDF as an option. If so, save it as such. You can also try File to Print and see if there is an option to print as a PDF. If so, choose this option and you can save (not actually print) as a PDF. Alternately, you can go to https://www.freepdfconvert.com and convert for free. 
4. Refer to the assignment grading rubric before submitting.
5. Submit the newsletter .pub or .docx file and the PDF using the course submission tool.
