John Lewis credits reading a 5-cent comic book about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1950s with sparking his interest in the civil rights movement. John Lewis was a Freedom Rider, the chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, a leader of the Selma march, and a 9 term Congressman proud of getting arrested 41 times.
