• Instruction for EXCEL Assignment 3
• Part I:  Use data from your EXCEL Assignment 2.
  • Abstract variables from the EXCEL data file provided to you for this assignment.
  • For each group, there needs to have at least 3 students/3 data points.
  • The significance level for hypothesis tests is 0.05. Use two-tails for all hypothesis tests.
  • Use the skill learned from E6 (t test) and E7 (ANOVA) to analyze this dataset.
  • Hypothesis tests for  ANOVA and t test (as needed)

  • Part 1 EXCEL: Hypothesis tests & Column chart of mean with SD as error bars  (based on the data from Assignment 2)

• • Summary of Part I ANOVA test (based on the data from Assignment 2).

• Use a paragraph format for your summary statement. Use a textbox in the EXCEL file for this summary. You need to place this textbox in the tab with “Summary”.
• Copy and paste the EXCEL results table directly will not be accepted as the summary statement for this hypothesis test.
• You need to describe the sample size, mean, SD in APA format (n=, M=, SD=) of groups you did the analysis in the statement, no matter you reject or fail to reject the ANOVA hypothesis test. You need to guide readers to know the results you want to present to them.
• Describe the hypothesis test results & conclusion. Use the p values from ANOVA results in APA format (refer to EXCEL Assignment 2) to support your decision-making on those hypothesis tests.
  • Mean and standard deviation:
    • describe the content with(n = , M = , SD = ) after your description
    • describe mean with (n = , SD = ) after the description
  • ANOVA results: F(df1, df2) =  F value, p= p value  or  F(df1, df2) =  F value, p <  001  (when p value is .000 in EXCEL printout)
  • t test results: t(df) = t stats, p = p value or t(df) = t stats, p < .001 (when p value is .000 in EXCEL printout)
• Describe the hypothesis test results & conclusion. Use the p values from post hoc multiple comparison t test results in APA format to support your decision-making on t tests (If needed). Remember the p value for the post hoc multiple comparison is the p value you get from EXCEL times the number of possible combinations of the multiple comparison. If there are 3 groups, then possible combinations are 3.  If there are 4 groups, then possible combinations are 6.
• Emphasizing whether there is any significance difference of the variable you tested among 3 groups and identify groups that have significant difference between each other.

• • Part II (Give examples of using hypothesis tests). Write them in a textbox within the EXCEL file.

• t tests:  You need to describe the example and identify the dependent and independent variables for this project/hypothesis test.  You need to describe the number of groups you will use for this project.  (You do not need to create the data set or do any calculation.)

  • For a column chart, you need to create a column chart (use value of means) with error bar (use values of standard deviations) for each mean.
  • The needs to have space between columns
  • The chart needs to have value of mean labelled on each column (data labels)
  • The chart needs to have appropriate titles (chart, X, Y) and legends.
  • You need to mark “*” if there is a significant difference in the post hoc multiple comparison analysis.
