Hello all,
The personality assessment that I chose was a duplicate of the Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). This is a self-report inventory designed to identify a person’s personality type, strengths, and preferences (Cherry, 2021). This test was inspired by Carl Jungs theory of personality types. Today, the MBTI inventory is one of the most widely used psychological instruments in the world. Based on the answers given on the inventory, individuals are identified as having one of the 16 personality types. This allows respondents to further explore and understand their own personalities and learn more about oneself. I will be explaining my results to each marker and my response to each result.
MIND: Extraversion (E) Introversion (I) This responds to how individuals interact with the world around them. Extraverts are described as being more socially focused, whereas introverts are more thought oriented. On this scale, I was 82% introverted. This was not surprising to me at all, except in a sense that it was so accurate.
ENERGY: Intuitive (I) or Observant (O) This is a personality trait that shows where we direct our mental energy and how we gather information. I was 52% intuitive. The test results state: Intuitive individuals are very imaginative, open-minded, and curious. They prefer novelty over stability and focus on hidden meanings and future possibilities (16 Personalities, 2022). This was a result that surprised me, only by the websites definition. I do not feel that I prefer novelty over stability, but I do consider myself to have outstanding intuition.
NATURE: Thinking (T) or Feeling (F) – This scale focuses on how people make decisions based on the information that they gathered from their sensing or intuition functions (Cherry, 2021). I was 64% feeling. This reveals that I am emotionally expressive, empathetic, and less competitive than thinking types.
TACTIC: Judging (J) or Perceiving (P) – This final scale reflects our approach to planning, work, and decision-making. I was 85% judging, revealing that I am decisive, organized, and thorough.
IDENTITY Assertive or Turbulent This trait underpins all others, showing how confident we are in our abilities and decisions (16 Personalities, 2022). I scored 65% turbulent. This signals low confidence and more sensitivity to stress. It is reveals that I am success-driven, perfectionistic, and eager to improve.
Overall, the test revealed that my personality code is INFJ-T and that I am an advocate personality type. I am not disappointed by my results, as this personality type is rare and altruistic. However, there are areas that I would like to challenge myself. One major area is to try to overcome my introversion. I am already challenged by this at work daily, as my job requires a lot of relational work, but it is exhausting to me. Another area to improve is the identity category. I do regularly question my own choices and lack self-confidence. In some ways, I feel like this is a blessing as well though. The perfectionistic aspect of this has helped me a lot but I would like to become more confident without questioning myself first.
This personality test confirmed a lot of characteristics that I already knew about myself and was enlightening as well. It was interesting to read the complete profile that I was given and better understand myself in this way. I am looking forward to seeing everyone elses results as well.

I took the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality assessment. The MBTI is an assessment based off the psychological types and attitudes outlined by Carl Jung and developed by Katherine Briggs. There are 16 possible outcomes when completing the MBTI, based on four areas:
When I completed the 93 questions test my results were ENTJ. Extrovert, Intuition, Thinking and Judging. ENTJs are the rarest of personality groups and have the best leadership abilities.
This combination lists my strengths as enjoying human interaction, being persuasive, assertive, I do well at expressing my opinions and decisions to others, eager to learn and improve knowledge, concerned about fairness, can turn a conflict into a positive lesson, and take my commitments and promises seriously.
I am in agreement with my strengths, and I found it very interesting how spot on it was. This has been my personality since I was very young always setting goals, achieving them then setting the next goal and so on.
Weaknesses as an ENJ include, disliking repeated mistakes, very little tolerance for inadequacy, or incompetence. ENTJs do not always listen to or acknowledge the way others feel and this can make me appear overbearing and intimidating. As a spouse or mother, I come off as a dictator. Though I am influenced by emotions, I work hard to hide them because it makes me feel weak.
Again, I agree with my weaknesses even though it is hard to admit to a group of people. I am in my forties so the weaknesses in my personality have been a work in progress for me. Professionally, through the years I have learned that we all come from different backgrounds and motivation looks different to different people. I work mostly independent from other employees but I have clients. Personally, yes, I am an extrovert, but I only have a small group of friends and our personalities are similar, it is too hard have friends that are sensitive to my reactions or comments. There are still times I have to apologize for my delivery. My children and husband are completely opposite from me, so over the years I have had to learn how to soften my reactions to decisions, mistakes and grades made. As I said I am a continuous work in progress. I try to be slower to react and quick to apologize. The hardest thing for me is showing my emotions, along with my personality I come from a military family, and it wasnt something I grew up seeing. That needs the most work and it is also the hardest thing for me to change.
