My group and I decided that the article Female entrepreneurs and equity crowdfunding
in the US: Receiving less when asking for more has the strongest insights since it involves
discrimination against female entrepreneurs. Compared to males, female entrepreneurs tend
to face greater obstacles in raising venture funding and equity crowdfunding. Equity
crowdfunding is a financial strategy of raising capital from investors and/or the public in order
to fund a business. The article used data collected from equity crowdfunding campaigns in the
US. The results from the data show that female entrepreneurs are subjected to stereotypes
that make it difficult to get funding for campaigns. Gender inequality in the workplace is still
very present and isn’t limited to unequal wages either. Employers need to close gender gaps in
the workplace and eliminate discrimination to maintain ethical sustainability.
The article my group and I selected correlates to the topic we recently learned about
and that is Employer Responsibilities. Discrimination in the workplace is very prominent and
although both men and women are both stereotype, women are subjected to different
expectations. It is never ethical to discriminate in the workplace. As an employer, one needs to
advocate to manage the workplace and maintain a healthy, welcoming workplace for
everyone. One will not get diversity in the workplace if the environment is not fair, respectful,
and safe. In Dr.Siqueira’s Ethical Responsibilities Powerpoint, she mentions how basic fairness
is implemented through due process where ethical leaders can ensure a very respectful culture
in an organization.

I chose that the article “The Feeling Economy: Managing in the Next Generation of AI”
The strongest insight of this article is the mordern technology. Due to tremendous technical
advancements, business management has become extremely effective in modern century. For
example, since automation was introduced, management has become so efficient that
computers have taken over most of the human-related duties. Artificial intelligence, on the
other hand, was not conceived until approximately1950, and its capabilities have since grown
beyond the repetitive and mechanical to include analytical and thinking capabilities (Huang et
al., 2019). The use of artificial intelligence has further transformed the economy, since various
machines are now performing more of the tasks that were formerly undertaken by human
labor. Further breakthroughs in the realm of artificial intelligence, from being mechanically
competent to being cognitively capable; have resulted in huge transformations that have
reduced the use of human intelligence in the world of business management.
The chosen article has several ties to the course subjects that we have been
examining. First, in what we term the Feeling Economy, many organizations are transitioning
from cognitive and mechanical jobs to feeling tasks such as selling, establishing, and
maintaining interpersonal or influencing consumers (Huang et al., 2019). This is in line with the
course discussions because we realized that the Thinking Economy is gradually being surpassed
by the Feeling Economy, and as a result, future employees must align their skills and capabilities
with the current tremendous changes in business management, or their skills will be deemed
insufficient. In today’s corporate world, a manager who can only perform mechanical and
administrative activities and has little expertise with emotional jobs such as engaging,
emphasizing, and connecting with consumers may find it difficult to completely fulfill their
responsibilities at work (Huang et al., 2019). Finally, it is argued that when artificial intelligence
progresses to a greater degree of intelligence and assumes more and more human-focused
jobs, we will need to expand our technical knowledge in order to efficiently fulfill tasks which
cannot be done by artificial intelligence.
