As an economist who studies international trade, I think it’s natural for Americans to be interested in how other nations are doing. But we should also be careful not to get carried away with our own self-importance–after all, global economic growth is going up because more people have access to higher-quality goods at lower prices than ever before! If we’re deeply concerned with their economies and standard of living, then we should be aiming to improve our own by investing in education and infrastructure. Education is key for creating skilled workers who can contribute positively to society; infrastructure such as roads, bridges and buildings make it possible for businesses to do business across borders without having concerns about transportation or communication problems.

However, it’s important not to get too caught up in this thinking because there are some things that you can do as a consumer yourself which will help your own economy stay strong:

• Buy American made products whenever possible (or at least local) – this will help keep jobs in the US which means more tax revenue coming in from people earning wages here instead of overseas
• Don’t buy things that you don’t need – this helps save money on unnecessary expenses like clothes or electronics which adds up over time so even if you’re making less money now than before due to inflation or something else affecting prices overall…you’ll still be ahead financially!
