With one-off backups, only the files that changed in the last backup cycle are backed up.

One-off backups are performed on a regular basis, but only the files that changed in the last backup cycle will be backed up. This means that if you have been using this technique for a long time, then all of your data could end up being backed up on one run.

In contrast, full backups include everything from then until now (or whenever you choose), which makes them more useful because they can be used as a starting point when restoring from an older version of your system.
