Briefly identify the main characteristics of class systems.

Introduction

Class systems are based on the differences between people in society, not on their work ethic.

Social mobility

Social mobility is the ability of people to move from one social class to another. It can be thought of as an indicator for how stratified society is, and it plays an important role in class systems. Social mobility refers to how easy it is for someone who starts at the bottom of a hierarchy or caste system (or any other sort of system) to reach higher up in that hierarchy.

Social mobility isn’t just about economic mobility; it’s also about social values and attitudes—how much you value certain things like education, work ethic etc., as well as your willingness or unwillingness to change yourself based on those values! So while there may be some overlap between these types of factors when talking about someone’s ability/willingness to change themselves socially – they are not necessarily the same thing at all times throughout their lives (as everyone has different experiences).

Income inequality

Income inequality is the difference between the income of a group of people and the income of another group. Income inequality is measured by the Gini coefficient, which ranges from zero (perfect equality) to one (perfect inequality). A higher value means more unequal distribution among different groups or individuals.

Income inequality can be worsened if one group has more power in society than others and thus they are able to keep their money while others cannot afford it. This can cause conflict as well as increase poverty rates worldwide

Poverty level

The poverty level is the minimum income required to meet basic needs in a particular country or region. It is different for each person and family, depending on their situation and needs.

In developed countries like the United States, the federal government determines what constitutes “poverty” based on how many people live below that threshold. For example, if your household makes $50k per year (or $1 million dollars total), then you’re considered wealthy by most standards—but if he or she lives alone with no spouse or kids inside it? That’s not so good anymore!

Stratification by wealth and power.

Class systems are based on the differences between people in society, not on their work ethic. Wealth and power are determined by the amount of money and power that a person has.

Class systems are important because they help determine how you should behave in society and what kind of opportunities you will have as an individual.

Class systems are not based on work ethic.

Class systems are based on wealth and power.

Class systems can be determined by social mobility: how easy it is for someone in one class to move to another class; or by income inequality (the distribution of income among different classes). The lower your class is compared to others, the more likely you’ll be poor or live in poverty.

Conclusion

Class systems are based on the differences between people in society, not on their work ethic. People who have less wealth and power tend to be more dependent on the middle class because they have few other options. However, this type of stratification has its advantages – it allows us to see how people are doing economically as well as socially.
