(limited to 3-5 minutes in length) Spark interest; focus attention; NOT instruction; does not include content necessary to teach lesson or students will be required to know at the end of the lesson Body of Lesson (Instruction) – what activities will you and the students do? (minimum of one activity using graphic organizer) describe what teacher AND students will do during lesson. Must include description of teaching and learning that will take place during lesson. The activity must be one that matches the stated learning objective. Assessment – how will you know if the students have learned? (minimum of one assessment) this should be a way for the teacher to know before students leave the classroom if the learning objective has been met. That is, do students know or do can they do what is stated as the purpose of the lesson Closure – how will you end the lesson? (minimum of one closure activity) Should involve some action/response from the students and be related to the stated objective.
