Planning for an outcome evaluation can be a complex process, as you must consider the purpose, outcomes, research design, instruments, and data collection and analysis procedures. It can be difficult to plan these things without seeing them in action. After you have engaged in planning, however, the knowledge you gain can live on in other efforts. For example, you can apply knowledge and skills learned from conducting one type of evaluation to others. The evaluations themselves can even inform and complement each other throughout the life of a program.

In this Assignment, you apply all that you have learned about program evaluation throughout this course to aid you in a complete outcome evaluation plan.

TO PREPARE

· Recall the program that you proposed in Week 4. If needed, review your previous work related to the program, client needs, and goals and intended outcomes, as well as last week’s plan for process evaluation.

· You must now develop a complete plan to evaluate the outcomes of the program.

Submit a 4-page plan for an outcome evaluation based on the new program that you proposed earlier in the course. Be specific and elaborate. Include the following information:

· A brief outline of the program

· The purpose of the evaluation

· The outcomes to be evaluated

· The group research design that you will use and why

· The key stakeholders and their potential concerns

· The indicators or instruments to be used to measure the outcomes

· The methods for collecting, organizing, and analyzing the data—who, how, etc.

Use the Learning Resources and peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles to support your paper. Make sure to include appropriate APA citations and a reference list.

Introduction

When evaluating a program, it can be easy to focus on the details and forget about the big picture. By thinking about how you will measure your achievements and what outcomes you want from your evaluation efforts, you can take a more holistic approach that considers all aspects of your project including cost effectiveness, client satisfaction and employee engagement.

Define the outcomes you want to achieve.

To begin, define the outcomes you want to achieve. For example, if you’re evaluating a sales team and their performance against a target number of new clients per quarter, it’s important to know whether they’ve met or exceeded their goal.

Next, define the process that will be used to measure each outcome. In this case, we would say our goal was to have the best possible first impression on potential customers by having one representative attend an event where she could meet other representatives from other companies who might be interested in doing business with us. Our process would include attending events such as networking opportunities at industry conferences or trade shows; speaking engagements at professional organizations; speaking engagements at local community colleges; attending speeches given by top-level executives from other companies (such as CEOs) about their experiences working within our industry/industries).

Finally – once all these activities have been accomplished – design an evaluation plan so that you know if they were successful or unsuccessful in achieving their desired results!

Determine the process you will use to measure each outcome.

A good plan for outcome evaluation will include a process to measure each outcome.

The process you use for measuring your outcomes should be consistent with the goals of your program and with the people involved in delivering it. If you’re not sure how to do this, ask yourself some questions:

• What are my goals?
• How can I measure those goals?
• Who will do the measuring (and when)?

Design a plan for evaluating the results of your evaluation efforts.

If you’re going to evaluate the results of your efforts, it’s important to design a plan for evaluating them. Your evaluation should be part of the process, not an afterthought that happens at the end of your project. It should also be ongoing—not just cramming everything into one big evaluation meeting when everyone is done working on their projects—and include steps like:

• Identifying what success looks like for each objective (e.g., “We will have increased sales by 10%”)
• Assessing whether you achieved these objectives (e.g., “Our sales increased by 10%, but we didn’t get any new customers.”)

• Understand the problem
• Understand the solution
• Understanding how to implement that solution, including knowing how to measure success or failure so you know if you need to make changes in your approach (or not).

Conclusion

All of these steps are essential to ensure that your program is successful. The first step is to define what you want out of the evaluation process—and then figure out how to measure it. Once you know what outcomes you’re shooting for and how they will be measured, design a plan that will help you determine whether each outcome has been achieved. Finally, make sure all stakeholders are included in this process so everyone has an opportunity for input on the data collected during each phase!
