Women’s Studies

Directions (WHOLE THING AS A POWERPOINT PRESENTATION): Create a 13-slide minimum (15 slide maximum) PowerPoint Presentation on a community organization that focuses its efforts on women’s issues. You may choose from the optional list provided below or you may contact me if you have another organization in mind that is not already provided.

You MUST use in-text citations in each of your slides. Also, please use proper grammar and correct spelling. Upon completing your presentation, upload your PowerPoint on Blackboard and then submit it on the “Assignments” tab.

MAKE SURE TO INCLUDE: Title Slide: Include all presenter names

First Half of Slides (i.e. Slides 1-5): Summary of its history and founding, what programs/events/etc. it currently has, and who the organization’s efforts are meant to benefit. Include graphs, statistics, media (articles, news coverage, etc.) and other supplementary information to support this part of your presentation.

Second Half of Slides (i.e. Slides 6-10): Propose a new program/event/initiative that the organization does not yet have that will help it reach more people and bridge gaps between other social issues.

Questions to consider:

What kinds of feminist issues does this organization not yet fully address?

Do this organization’s current methods seek to benefit an intersectional demographic? (Do they reach out to or help diverse groups of people who may experience more than

one type of oppression?)

Is there a way that their current goals and activism can be related to another important

feminist issue?

How can this new idea for this organization be as accessible as possible?

In what ways can this new idea help to expand this organization’s effectiveness for social

change?
1 Slide: Explain why you chose this particular organization and why it is important to you. Bibliography Slide: Include a Works Cited with proper citations of all information used. **Include at least 1-2 images per slide.
