  • Find a recent (no more than 3 months old) article on-line from a credible news source that is associated with the topic that will be discussed in class.
    • Properly cite the article in your Ethics Topic Assignment and include a link to the article.
  • Summarize and analyze the argument: (This segment should be a paragraph or two in length.)
    • What type of reasoning is being used? (Can Utilitarianism, Deontology, or Virtue ethical theories be applied?)
      • Give examples and explain
    • Is it a sound argument/stance? Why or why not?  (Does the argument rely on subjective ideas such as psychological egoism, cultural relativism, etc.)
  • What is a possible counter to this view/opinion? (This segment should be a paragraph or two in length.)
    • Explain and describe what alternate type of reasoning is being used. (Can Utilitarianism, Deontology, or Virtue ethical theories be applied?)
      • Give examples and explain
    • Is it a sound argument/stance? Why or why not? (Does the argument rely on subjective ideas such as psychological egoism, cultural relativism, etc.)
